Punk:
Punk rock emerged in the 1970s and was defined by the first wave of punk bands such as The Clash, The Sex Pistols and The Ramones. The music often conveys ideas of anarchy, aggresion and anti-establishmentarianism. In the late 70s there was an unofficial ban on punk music in Glasgow. The raw energetic sound continues to influence many of Scotland's emerging bands. |
