Edinburgh born guitarist Willie Logan has played in bands since his teens and became a professional musician soon after leaving full time education. In 1997 he made the final of Guitarist magazines Guitarist Of The Year competition at Wembley and at that time had several guitar instrumental tribute albums out on the Hallmark label, which sold in excess of 70,000 units. He also recorded a version of THE HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN which topped the Besonic.com Blues charts for 3 years enjoying on average 200 - 300 plays a day for the first 6 months and is now featured on his album of the same name.
He has worked with many well-known artists and frequently enlists the talents of some of Scotlands finest musicians, many who have toured in bands with well-known names in the music industry, to do occasional gigs and complete recorded material. It is planned that, with his original rock instrumental album TUNES FOR GUITAR SLINGERS, released in 2002 and currently available (Rollercoaster Records RCCD 6009), the new blues album THE HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN BLUES, now re-packaged, (Rollercoaster 6015) and the new album FRAGILE CREATURES out NOW! (Rollercoaster 6014), the Willie Logan Band will not only be making more frequent appearances, but will become a more permanent venture.
As a freelance musician Willie is also records and produces for other artists and frequently lends his guitar slinging skills to their live performances. So if you've got a tour or 'stuff' you need doing and you need a guitarist... just shout !
