As a Keppoch MacDonald Chief I have inherited the traditional gift of the Bard. Although, I have been singing since the age of 7 years old, and started composing ballads in my teens, it was not until much later in life that I began composing and singing in earnest.
Most of my compositions reflect my innermost feelings of the true Gael, and the deep love of my ancestors and their struggles for survival against all odds. The love of Scotland, Lochaber and our clann duthchas ( family lands ) intertwines with a strong passionate and deep love of independence for our people. Nationalistic ? Yes, but based on the need to bring home to Scots throughout the diaspora, that our struggle continues, and victory is drawing nearer day by day.
