KINGS OF CHEEZE formed in 2004 and have quickly earned a fanatic following of loyal fans. Working out of the Sound Cafe recording studio, the Cheezers produce their own material and collaborate with friends such as Dan Demon & the Sons of Seamen and former Beta Band drummer Robin Jones.
The band resists definition, fusing an eclectic mix of influences from Appalachian soul to ska-jazz rhythms. They've been compared to the Hothouse Flowers, David Byrne, and the B-52s as well as The Squirrel Nut Zippers and Frank Zappa. Their 2 CD/EPs are hot danceable items and feature re-mix contributions from DJ Dave Summersgill. Their writing is quirky and catchy and at times surreal. Just listen to 'Muffin Man' or 'Hole in My Head' and hear what we mean.
The band lineup:
Stevie Connor - pipes and whistles, vocals
Dave Gray - guitar and vocals
Roy Middleton - bass and vocals
Trish Murray - vocals and percussion
Mikey Omasta - trumpet
Stuart Sinclair - drums
Michael Williams - guitar and vocals
