Fiona Mackenzie, a native of Fochabers in Moray who learnt Gaelic as an adult, has embraced the culture wholeheartedly. She won the prestigious An Comunn Gaidhealach Gold Medal at the Royal National Mod in Stornoway in 2005. She has been the Mairi Mhor Gaelic Song Fellow for Highland Council since March 2002. Fiona also won the first BBC Radio Scotland Scottish Traditional Music Personality of the Year in 2004. She has sung and taught throughout Scotland and the UK as well as Canada, the USA, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, France and Estonia.
