From Applecross in the West Highlands of Scotland, Derek produces a blend of Funk, Blues and Afrobeat with a twist of Celtic flavour including occasional Gaelic content.

Former guitarist and co-writer with brilliantly obscure nineties underground rock band Rootlove. Since then has supported traditional Scottish music playing gigs locally and abroad, sessions, teaching and promoting local events.  Has recently returned to his first instrument, and picked up a number of others. Has refined his style as a crofting artisan combining rock and Gaelic influences with Afrobeat to create a sound that is fairly unique on the world stage today. Nowadays can be found in low key jam sessions using his findings to enhance music in styles ancient and modern.
