The musical content - 12 tracks -is sure to be appealing to a large number of people because both the listener and the dancer are catered for, with some of the most popular dances included on the album.
ROBBIE SHEPHERD, of BBC Radio Scotland, says of the band:-
"In presenting Scottish Dance Music on radio over the years, I have been particularly pleased to welcome young bands making their broadcasting debut. It gives me double pleasure to welcome them back. Such a band is that of Craig McCallum's Scottish Dance Band who have confirmed, in their 5 broadcasts to date and on this their debut commercial recording, their promotion to the 'premier league'. The lift is there for dancing feet and the lilt is there for discerning ears. Yes, Craig McCallum's Scottish Dance Band have arrived and they're here to stay."
There are exciting reels, marches and jigs, two beautiful waltz selections and listen out for the superb arrangement of Phil Cunningham's slow air - "Finlay M. MacRae", which leads into a cracking pipe medley, clearly displaying the talent of the Band. |
