Anne Lorne Gillies was raised on a croft in Argyll, and is a fluent Gaelic speaker. She won the Mòd Gold Medal when she was seventeen, then studied Celtic and English at Edinburgh University. She had classical music training in London and Italy, which combined with her natural, native talent gives an unusual style, and tremendous flexibility. She has been performing around the world for longer than she would care to remember, has made many albums, and radio and TV appearances including complete series. |
