About Alan Brydon

Alan G Brydon is a prolific Scottish songwriter with a rare talent for compiling passionate heart-felt lyrics with strong melodies. He is a member of popular folk band Scocha, www.scocha.com with whom he plays a variety of instruments including whistles, bagpipes and guitars.
In addition to his work with Scocha, Alan is an accomplished author, songwriter and poet, in his own right and his songs are being sung by a growing number of artistes.
His acclaimed “Calling Doon the line (Piper’s Call)” published nationally in The Times newspaper has been adopted as the anthem for the Memorial to WW1 Scottish Soldiers in Flanders.

In August 07 the song On The Road To Passchendaele was jointly written with Major (Retd) Gavin Stoddart MBE BEM for the unveiling of the new memorial to the Scots in Passchendaele. The song was performed for the first time in Flanders as part of the official unveiling ceremony.
