More on this Album:

Davy says; "I started out with an open mind recording around 17 songs with acoustic guitar and vocal. I then left them for a couple of weeks and when I returned to listen to the tracks again Pete had added drum loops and different sound effects to some of the tracks, which blew me away, and took a few of the songs on a different journey all together. I then got in touch with Steve Spence who played keyboards with the band during the Ice Trees & Lullabies period, he further enhanced the tracks with many subtleties from haunting keyboard and piano symphony’s, to full on Honky Tonk Piano. I also enlisted the skills of long time friend Kevin Dingwall, a bass player with (Proto Call) one of the first bands I played in as a youngster. " Current Coinneach bass player Fraser Donaldson also plays on some tracks along with fellow band members Graeme Hosie on drums and Rachael Parker on fiddle. Another two past members of the band also made their musical contributions to the album in Debbie (Swanson) Ross on violin and Jean Pierre Sieczkarek on mandolin and fiddle; "Melanie Simpson who played accordion with Coinneach right at the very beginning also plays on 3 tracks on the album. Andy Murray ex Wolfstone guitarist also makes a brief appearance on one of the songs, Tender Sleep a track that we busked together during a German tour back in 2003. I found the whole recording experience very different as a solo artist. In the past I would write the songs and we would work and develop them together as a band, with the end result being recording them in the studio as a band. This was a very different experience altogether, one which took me on a musical journey with many twists and turns along the way. At the start of this project I wasn’t 100% sure where I wanted to go with it, but I wanted it to be more than a straight forward acoustic album, something interesting and compelling to draw in the listener, hopefully discovering something new every time the album is played, and I am delighted with the results we have achieved."
